Why it costs what it costs

A hat is built from small panels, which means a lot of seams in a small area, and every one of them is a place a pattern can visibly stop. Matching the thread to the ground is an extra specification on a cheap-to-skip detail. Made after you order it, so nothing here is priced to cover unsold stock.

Thread is the thing that gives a printed hat away. Sew rose panels together with black thread and you have drawn six dark lines across the crown before anyone has looked at the pattern. Matched thread lets the seams disappear into the ground, so what you see from a step away is the monogram and the shape of the hat — not the map of how it was assembled.
