Why it costs what it costs

Printed flat and cut afterwards, so the repeat carries from the shoulder down through the placket rather than restarting at every panel. Each shirt is made after you order it, so nothing here is priced to cover unsold stock.

Most shirt collars stand up, and a standing collar cuts the pattern into a band at the neck. A camp collar folds flat from the first button, so the repeat runs over the shoulder and out along the collar leaf without a break. Worn open — which is the only way this shirt is worn — the cross pattern is uninterrupted from the hem to the lapel.
