Why it costs what it costs

The pattern is printed across the panels before the shoe is assembled — not screened onto a finished blank — so the repeat runs unbroken instead of stopping at a printed patch. Each pair is made after you order it, which is why it takes about three weeks, and why there is no warehouse of unsold stock priced into it.

The collar is where a printed shoe usually gives itself away. Most patterned sneakers stop the print at the quarter panel and leave the ankle blank. This one carries the repeat up and over the padded collar — the part that folds every time you take a step.

Gold shields, each marked with an oxblood cross, four-point stars in diamond frames, and JOSHUA 1:9 in gold small caps. Ivory is the lightest ground the house prints: it shows the lattice most clearly, and it will show wear honestly. Both of those are the point.
