Why it costs what it costs

A monogram drawn for a jacket panel does not automatically work at strap width. The repeat has to be re-scaled so a whole shield and a whole star still land inside a band a few centimetres tall — get that wrong and you get a stripe of gold noise. Ivory is the ground where you can actually judge whether it worked, because nothing is hiding.
