Why it costs what it costs

Printing the panels flat and cutting them afterwards is slower than putting a graphic on a finished blank, and it is the only way the gold crosses, the laurel and the Joshua 1:9 cartouches run over the shoulder and around the pocket instead of stopping at a rectangle. It is made after you order it, so nothing here is priced to cover unsold stock.

A zip changes the arithmetic. It splits the front into two separate panels where a pullover has one, which means the chest is the single place on this piece where the repeat has to stop dead and begin again on the other side of the teeth. Every other edge — shoulder, side seam, cuff — the pattern simply walks across. Look down at the zip and you are looking at the one interruption the maker could not design away, only line up.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” — Joshua 1:9, King James Version
