Why it costs what it costs

The pattern is printed across the panels before the boot is assembled — not screened onto a finished blank — so the repeat runs unbroken instead of stopping at a printed patch. Each pair is made after you order it, which is why it takes about three weeks, and why there is no warehouse of unsold stock priced into it.

Gold shields, each marked with an oxblood cross, set into a rope-lattice trellis on charcoal — with JOSHUA 1:9 in gold small caps worked into the repeat.

On a boot that pattern has to survive weather, and it does, because it is not sitting on the surface waiting to be scuffed off. It is printed into the panels before the boot is built. There is no edge to lift.
