Why it costs what it costs

The pattern is printed across the panels before the shoe is assembled rather than screened onto a finished blank, so the repeat runs unbroken over the upper instead of stopping at a printed patch. Each pair is made after you order it, which is why it takes about three weeks and why there is no warehouse of unsold stock priced into it.

Every outward surface of this shoe carries the pattern. The lining does not — it is mesh, and mesh is there to move air, not to hold a print. That is the one honest limit of an all-over shoe, and it is the right limit to accept: the part that sits against your foot for twelve hours should be chosen for how it breathes, not for how it photographs.
