Why it costs what it costs

With no zip, the front is one piece, so the repeat has to hold across the whole chest with no hardware line to hide a mismatch behind. Printing flat and cutting afterwards is what makes that possible, and it is the reason the gold crosses, the laurel and the Joshua 1:9 cartouches carry over the shoulder rather than sitting in a printed block.

There is no hardware on this piece. No zip, no snap, no eyelet, no slider — nothing that tarnishes, catches on a seatbelt or gives out years before the cloth does. Everything on it that can wear is fabric, and fabric wears slowly and visibly, which is the honest way for a thing to age. It is the plainest build in the capsule and the one with the fewest ways to fail.
