Why it costs what it costs

A moisture-wicking blend costs more than plain cotton, and a mid-calf cut uses more of it than an ankle sock. It is made after you order it, so nothing here is priced to cover unsold stock.

Socks are the only thing in this capsule you wear as a matched pair, which makes them the only place the repeat shows up twice at once — one on each side, moving out of step with each other as you walk. Everything else here gives you a single field to read. This gives you two, and they never quite agree.
